Terms & Conditions

I hereby acknowledge that Lion Self-defense utilizes their own services to capture, process and store the personal information (as defined in article 1 of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPI”)) of the Members provided to Lion Self-defense by the Members pursuant to this Agreement.

 

I voluntarily consent to Lion Self-defense to process (the term as defined in article 1 of POPI) any special personal information (the term as defined in article 1 of POPI) in respect of the Member, collected by or provided to Lion Self-defense, including, but not limited to information relating to the health status of the Member for the purposes of accessing and considering the Member’s health status in accordance with this Agreement.

I willing agree to voluntarily participating in an exercise class, self-defense training, Yoga class or personal training program with Lion Self-defense. I recognize that the programs/classes require physical exertion that may be strenuous at times and may cause physical injury, and I am fully aware of the risks and hazards involved.

I understand that it is my responsibility to consult with a physician prior to and regarding my participation in the above programs/classes or use of equipment. I represent and warrant that I have no medical condition that would prevent our participation in the programs/classes.

 

I agree to assume full responsibility for any risks, injuries or damage known or unknown which we may incur as a result of participating in the programs, classes or use of equipment. Such injuries may include, but are not limited to, heart attacks, muscle strains, muscle pulls, muscle tears, broken bones, shin splints, heat prostration, injuries to knees, injuries to back, injuries to foot, or any other illness or soreness, including death.

 

I knowingly and voluntarily and expressly waive any claim I may have against Lion Self-defense or any instructor, employee, officers, owners, personal trainer or volunteer of Lion Self-defense for injury or damages that my child may sustain as a result of participating in the programs, classes or by use of equipment. I, my heirs or representatives forever release waive, discharge and covenant not to sue Lion Self-defense, its employees, officers, owners and sub-contractors for any injury or death caused by their negligence or other acts. I understand that misuse of equipment may result in injury.

 

I consent to allow Lion Self-defense to collect photographs or videos of me, by capturing my image at Lion Self-defense for identifying him/her as a member, volunteer or program participant. Lion Self-defense periodically takes pictures or video of members and persons participating in programs/classes to use for promotional purposes and programming materials including social media and the Lion Self-defense website.

 

I have read the above waiver and release of liability and fully understand its contents. I voluntarily agree to the terms and conditions stated above.
